Under our current unsustainable model, We are projected to spend $49 trillion over the next 10 years on healthcare in the United States while millions are still unable to receive the necessary medical care they need; Medicare for All would provide all medically necessary care and a dramatic expansion of medical services for everyone, while saving much-needed funds for other important projects. The United States will save 5 trillion dollars over the next 10 years with a national Medicare for All health program.
Wendell Potter - Wendell has more than four decades of experience as a communications professional, going back to his teenage years in Tennessee, where he served as a high school correspondent to his hometown paper, The Kingsport Times-News. His journalism career would later take him to Memphis, Nashville, and finally Washington, D.C., where he covered Congress, the White House, and the Supreme Court for Scripps-Howard Newspapers.
After seeing firsthand how strategic PR and lobbying is used unfairly to tilt the scales toward corporate interests against the people’s interests, Wendell left his corporate career to advocate for meaningful health care reform. He has spoken at more than 200 public forums and authored the award-winning book, Deadly Spin, An Insurance Company Insider Speaks Out on How Corporate PR Is Killing Health Care and Deceiving Americans. His latest offering is an eBook entitled, Obamacare: What’s in for Me? What Everyone Needs to Know about the Affordable Care Act. He is president of Wendell Potter Consulting.
Richard Master - Richard Master is the CEO of a $200 million a year company – MCS Industries in Easton, Pennsylvania. MCS is the nation’s leading supplier of wall and poster frames. Master has a problem. He provides health insurance for his 200 employees.
Last year, he decided to do something about it. He’s organizing to enlist other business leaders to speak out for the need for single payer health care. Last year, he made the case in a documentary movie – Fix It: Healthcare at the Tipping Point. In May he released a second movie – Big Pharma – Market Failure.
And next year, he will release a third – a yet untitled documentary about how money in politics is blocking the will of the American people.
Sherry Eason - Sherry Eason is from North Carolina and became an expert on health care exchanges. She operates a small insurance company that helps people navigate the insurance plans and select the one that fits their needs. As a Medicare for All advocate running a health insurance company, she brings a unique perspective as to why and how the ACA is not what we need.
