This song (supposedly) led to several suicides. The lyrics totally back this up.

I wouldn't say depressing necessarily, but certainly melancholic.
And obviously this classic classic.
grouper - little gray cat
I think we need some depressing rap.
Basically anything that's funeral doom metal.
Ladies and gentlemen... the king of depression, the original beautiful loser:
Mansfield TYA - Pour oublier je dors
Sopor Aeternus & the Ensemble of Shadows - In der Palastra
June Lake - Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now (Smiths cover)
Dalida - Avec le temps
William Basinski - d|p 1.1
Post this on a one direction fan site!
Not sure if anyone mentioned them but Portishead has a ton of depressing songs.

Damn! That's who I was gonna mention. A friend of mine loved "Dummy" and would listen to it constantly. They have a few good songs but personally I prefer fast, exciting music over the kind of music Portishead does.
You're looking for anything from Giles Corey and Slint.
Giles Corey - Blackest Bile
Slint - Washer
I've got a big music collection and a pretty good chunk of it is varying shades of depressing from gently mopey stuff to outright suicide anthems.
anyway here's a spectacularly maudlin tune by The Black Heart Procession.
