if lenin lived a bit longer, do you think socialism would have been less criticized?stalin then rose to power, and was hated by the western world- would socialism had a bit more of a human face if he lived?
Yes, I think if Stalin had ruled for 5 years and Lenin for the 30 or so years we would see a very different face of socialism and an acceptance of it now. Moreover, it would have been a much different USSR had Trotsky succeeded Lenin.

I agree that everything would have been different if Lenine was replaced by Trotsky, instead of Staline. Export the revolution would change minds all over the world.
I don't think that
Trotsky was different
that Stalin.
It's silly to believe that
the fight was based
on the ideological
conflict.
They both wanted
to get the power.
It's the same thing that
happened between
Marcus and Antonius
in the Roman empire.
Marx said it:
History repeats itself.
-
Lenin was not a perfect man.
He may organised
the USSR, he may
had created a very
democratic constitution,
BUT he also created the
mechanism that
made Stalin leader.
