Post-Left Anarchism
I know post-Leftism takes alot of heat around here, understandable since this is a Leftist forum. What I'd like to do is see if there are any self-identifying post-Left anarchists or even anarchists without achronyms who'd be willing to share what their outlook is and how they see anarchism outside of the Left.
I'd also be interested to hear from anarchists that subscribe to the Left and their ideas on the subject such as why they feel anarchism and the Left are so closely intertwined and why the two should remain that way.
I love communists but if the discussion could keep primarily between anarchists It'd be much appreciated.

How could anarchism exist outside of 'the left'? What do you mean by 'post-left' anarchism?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. I know that post-Left anarchism rejects the notion of revolution based on class-war and that leaves alot of open ground. I want to know if there's anyone who can tell me about it.

If it rejects the notion of class conflict as the main motivation for revolution then its a break with anarchism. People seem to think they can apply the name anarchism to anything they want because anarchism just means no government or no rules. Anarchism is the libertarian bent on socialism in its extreme form, and anarchism has no roots except in the socialist movement. Therefore if you are a 'post left' anarchist, your probably not an anarchist, you just like the word.
So what would your opinion be on
this article done by infoshop?
Its short, poorly written and uninformative.
Post-left anarchists don't really know what they want. I think its just intellectual wankery, trying to find a niche then defining it afterwards, and it makes no sense. They have nothing to offer and I think its for people like yourself who have some very odd ideas and almost as some sort of desperate individualism want to position yourself outside of 'the boundaries of leftism'.
Yeah bro, I totally support post-leftism. I just got back to my mansion after a hard day biking around and dumpster diving. The rich are oppressed by Capitalism too ya know.

Now that is terrible. The article in no-way critiques class based anarchism, but instead attacks 'authoritarian leftism', infact it seems to not understand what anarchism actually has been advocating in the past- i.e. not single issue causes. The entire article is a shambles and should really be retitled or taken off the site.

I take it you're post-Left?

Nope, I think the only practical way towards revolution is through the working class expropriating the means of production and attacking the hierarchical structures that seek to maintain and co-opt organs of struggle.
That said, I have yet to come across a decent representation of post-leftism.

Letting any idiot* call themself an anarchist, and accepting them as such.
*Post lefties, primmies, mutualists, individualists, liberals, witches, pagans, Christians, any other anti-social jackasses and freaks.

What on earth prevents them from being anarchists?

What on earth prevents those from being anarchists?
They're freaks and I don't want to associate with them, much less have them be associated with the anarchist movement.

Because folks like Jack think materialist cynicism is intrinsic to anarchism.

Don't worry, we don't have a particularly strong desire to associate with you either.:laugh::laugh:
