I like living in New York. I'm a few minutes from the city. I was able to participate in Occupy Wallstreet on day 1, before it really degenerated. It's pretty expensive, but I think the urban life is worth it.

Sorry if I am being bothersome with the questions on Germany. It is just I rarely get to speak with a German about what is going on and I am interested in the political climate there. So the Bundeswehr is basically a better equipped version of Blackwater? It just goes where NATO sends them.

What is the view on the debt crisis in Greece and Spain? I have read several online discussions where a German would talk badly of the Greeks and claim that they "owe them money" (I guess the Greek government borrowed from these individuals so they are upset ) Is this mentality widespread? Are many Germans blaming the Greeks and Spaniards for the problems?

With such a view towards the war, how do they even have motivated troops willing to go and fight? Another thing that interests me is that I've heard that the US soldiers are not held accountable for their actions by the German court system. That anytime they make a problem in Germany, it is the jobs of the Military Police to handle them and the base commanders to decide whether or not they get court marshaled. I heard this from my father who visited both West and East Germany during the cold war, so idk how true it is now.

Hi, I was wondering what the average German citizen's positions are on the presence of US military bases on German soil? Does the average citizen view them negatively and as a form of imperialism? Has there been any actions to try and oust the American presence?

And by "joined the project" I mean talked to the professor and confirmed that he will be my advisor. No work has actually started yet, though I am doing literature review for previous work on the topic.

I have no idea, the project started two weeks ago and I only joined the project yesterday. We won't actually know any of that information for another three years at least in all likelihood.

Haha, fair enough. I'm making new connection design standards between structural members (beams, columns, girders, bracings, etc.) in steel-based structures more thermally insulated for various reasons. Basically, it reduces energy costs and increases the long-term structural integrity of the buildings because of corrosion due to condensation.
