During the Russian Revolution. Myasnikov was one of the leaders of the Workers' Group, a faction of the Bolsheviks that emerged in the early 1920s as a response to the degeneration of internal party democracy, the alienation of the Russian working class from the Party, and other such issues at that time.

He was a cool guy. If you're interested, I'd recommend checking out his Manifesto of the Workers' Group, which can be found in the Left Communists usergroup. The Workers' Group was, along with the Workers' Opposition and the Democratic Centralists (Decists), one of the several factions to emerge in the early 1920s within the RCP(B) in opposition to the Party's degeneration.

Why thank you. While not as fine as Stalin's, Myasnikov did indeed possess a fine mustache.

If I was to, it would probably be more theory-based than have actual historical evidence. You know, the general rambling about "they weren't ready for capitalism because they didn't have sophisticated industrialization, they had to induce state capitalism, etc" and so on.

If you'd need help, I'd certainly try to do my best! However, there are probably numerous people here on revleft that are better versed on Soviet history, debunking Soviet myths, etc than I am.

For Andre and Buress, the luxury of irony does not spare them from the reality of identity, both self and socially constructed. Thus the situation is somewhat contradictory. Whereas irony presupposes detachment and disavowal, political engagement implies just the opposite (engagement...). And thus their treatment of race is at once a rejection and embrace, ironic but also political. Part of the genius of Andre and Buress is their awareness of this fact, and their ability to harness it towards art, comedy and consciousness raising.

    Sorry, too pedantic?
