I don't think it's a particularly helpful idea. It's true to some degree; people like union bosses would be an example of the labor aristocracy, they're more or less tools of the bourgeoisie. People like the Maoists use it to say that 90% of the worker's in the "first world" are "aristocrats" and that even the "Third World" bourgeoisie are exploited to the point of being workers, which of course is nonsense. China has some of the world's richest people.

I don't think the labor aristocracy theory is essential, just like we don't need a "class traitor" theory to tell us that cops aren't friends of the workers.
