if you want to go ahead and make that thread now that the other marxism thread seems to have died down, it'd be cool to talk about communisation and work some things out
hang on- still here, involved with other things atm, and i'm with you on the one thread in tech support <3
I'd like to discuss that stuff further and in relation to the rapidly escalating situation in the US, and also elsewhere. Not ignoring your post.
I personally find it a pretty entertaining read but I can see how some might find it a dry read - it's around 1400 pages in total I think, which is a fair amount for a piece that covers only six years of history. But Carr is a great writer and he's able to include inane amounts of detail in his writing while still maintaining a pretty high level of readability.
I'm definitely adding it to the list of things I need to read.
That quote about "wheelbarrowing" is hilarious.

first episode: "meh, i'll watch one more i guess." second episode: "alright this is pretty acceptable." third episode: "alright fuck it i think i really like this show". --- thanks for the recommendation!
Hmm. I've heard of it before and it has a good IMDb rating, but I guess the Victorian atmosphere and lack of knowing any fans made me pass it over. Will watch and report back with thoughts.
yeah that's it. it's actually like a 3/5 kinda show and after the first three seasons ended like shit i don't even think anybody watches it anymore but it's legit i mean look at that clown for one
