In which case I think I should apologise because I haven't been clear. I don't claim ownership of the toothbrush (because I don't believe in property).

I should perhaps have written "It's 'mine' (in as much as it's anybody's) because I use it".

In this sense I think that it is what you define as 'common property/ownership' but then I regard the whole notion as absurd. Everybody 'owns' everything, which is the same as saying nobody owns anything. You 'own' the toothbrush I use just as much as I do. I have no particular rights over the toothbrush that you do not. If you want, you can take the toothbrush I've been using and use it yourself. Why would you want to? I don't know. But you can. And I can get another toothbrush from the Universal Store that you 'own' just as much as I do.
