nah, never really got into the game, grew up in an typical progressive middle class family, no sports culture. in the period ajax was performing well on an international level i would watch a match once i a while but it never managed to keep my intrest. also couldnt really stand the fans, the whole jewish thing is a bit embarrassing for an actual jew esp since when i grew up in the 90's the dutch white workingclass wasnt a really fun crowd at the time, lots of racism.
when i worked later as an garbage man and picked up kickboxing in a gym run by former F-side lads i warmed up to them.
but again the game never really managed to intrest me.
guess its why i'm such an st. pauli fan, first time i ever met some st. pauli lads they where insanely celebrating, i mean partying proper wild, turns out they just lost their match but they just could give a damn. that was when i thought, this is the fan attitude i can dig.
