Good to see that you're back.

You probably don't know me, but I enjoy reading your posts. I can understand why you've gotten disillusioned though.

Meh, it seems to me (from what i've read and heard!) that it's just a bit of a hotch potch movement at teh moment. They seem to have been more caught up in the St. Pauls Church media stuff than actually getting their point across to the wider public.

I dunno, we'll see how it goes. Tis why i'm so interested to see it in the flesh tbh and get talking to the people there.

Yeah saw the reports and stuff on that, quite exciting though it's pretty small scale at the moment.

What would be great is if the students and workers could join up and then radicalise the Occupy movement, since that'd obviously swell our numbers, provide cross-sector strength and (due to students and Occupy) get the issue of working class rebellion into the media.

I've been away for a couple of months at uni, and yeah before then I was pretty cynical about the whole Occupy thing. Still am, but i'm quite excited that it's spread so much. Whether it will spread politically in the way we want is another matter, mind.

I'm actually really excited to be heading back to London in a couple of weeks, will be my first chance to visit Occupy London and see what's actually going down there, it's diffcult to actually understand what's really going on in all these Occupy events from media reports, left and right!

Sorry I never got back to you, I actually did send you a lengthly reply via visitor message, but it was when the board was down and it just got lost/deleted!

Yeah, being left-com/libertarian socialist is kind of frustrating, as I said earlier I don't really know where to go activism wise, i'm quite unlucky in that the uni I go to is a haven of apathy and 'moderate' politics, the only left-wing campaign at the moment is the SWPs Right To Work (which I left last year for obvious reasons1) and even that has pretty much no visible presence.

It's like, you're just caught between Leninist sects and Black Bloc groups, meh.

Political Statement
The movement for socialist, emancipatory action stands at a time of redevelopment and understanding. The capitalistic-minded politics of the 19th and 20th centuries have been proven to be subservient to Capital and its holders. Socialists, of every ideological stripe, must recognize the need for a concerted, united drive towards the fostering and development of a mass workers' and peoples' movement; a movement that recognizes the necessity for democracy and all its manifestations within the socialistic mindset. Through workers' and peoples' movements, resistance, and solidarity, socialists can begin the movement anew, founded on the unified voice of the working-class.

"Socialist ideas become significant only to the extent that they become rooted in the working class."

"If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom and yet deprecate agitation are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. . .Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will."
