  1. It's sad as hell; most politicians have reputations for extreme lying, yet from every anecdotal and contemporary account I could find, people said that when Thomas Sankara made a promise, he kept it, even at his own expense.

Africa would be such a better place if Thomas Sankara and the Burkinabe revolution lived on; so much good was done in his 4 years as the chairman of the revolutionary committee, I wish he lived at least another 4 to see what more good he would've done...Burkinabe probably would've been like a really wealthy Cuba if that was the case.

Yes, that describes China today quite accurately. But surely you can see the difference between China today and China before the counter-revolution that followed Mao's death?

It's like blaming the problems of modern Burkina Faso on Sankara.

What do you mean, Chomsky calls a spade a spade? Mike and Chomsky argue pretty much the same thing.

I think you really should read the Tibet piece. You've obviously got a lot of imperialist lies left in your system, and if you intend to become a Marxist revolutionary you should be doing all you can to break with them.

Mike Ely is not a member of the RCP. He was expelled because he opposed the cult around Avakian.

And he doesn't deny what happened in Cambodia. He doesn't deny the KR did a lot of fucked up shit. What he DOES question is the historical account put forward by the bourgeoisie that the KR killed two million people just because they were crazy and evil. The story is more complex than that, as Mike Ely tried to explain.

I take it you condemn Noam Chomsky as a Pol Pot supporter? In his famous book "Manufacturing Consent", he devotes a large section to refuting the imperialist lies and distortions told about Cambodia.

    And this guy's an anarchist!
