Deadly sig.
What do you study at Leeds bro?
Really? From reading your posts I thought you would be opposed to Bordiga! What views do you take on some specific things?
Lol, not a horrible cliche, but a serious and awful reality . You're not an anarchist? What would you classify yourself as then?
It just hit me that your name might be sarcastic, lol.
Really? Ed Miliband? I thought you were an anarchist? Why are you throwing your support behind some social democrat?
Such flattery - but I'm not sure why it is so surprising? It's not like I'm a tankie, although sometimes I like to argue against those obsessed with Stalin as a personal great evil God and using these sort of liberal tripe arguments to dismiss complex history.
I am legit surprised to find a real person on here. thanks for your replies so far in PYHO, btw
Two books I read somewhat recently are Public Opinion by Walter Lippmann and Boomerang: Travels in the New Third World by Michael Lewis. Public Opinion is basically about how to construct successful propaganda by someone who actually was a propagandist. It's fairly interesting...the author at one point in the book mentions Kropotkin and anarchism, which I thought was kind of odd, as the author was not a leftist of any sort. Boomerang is good too. It's about Michael Lewis wanting to understand the financial crisis, so he went to Iceland, Ireland, Greece, and Germany. Then at the end of the book he goes to California ("America's Greece"), and basically concludes with the opinion that we're all royally fucked. Some of the book is kind of offensive, though, if one reads it from a left-wing position...he includes a description of the bank burning in Athens that killed four people or something a couple years back, a description I'm pretty sure that is mistaken.
Is Ed Miliband going to save the British left?
