But a Quetzal is also a bird, with 2 long green tail fethers. And killing this bird was sentenced with death by inca priests. It has been a crime for 1000 years till now. They captured them alive to collect the fethers and released them. Also this bird was never hold in captive till late in the 90's cuz it is known to kill itself if its locked in a cage, thats why its also the national symbol of freedom in guatemala
