Yes, Dave's incredibly friendly. However, I think his campaigning during the election wasn't up to scratch. We're standing TUSC candidates for the Brighton council elections, I'm hoping he stands as one, since he's spot on with everything he says and is a genuine character.
Yes, it has been busy down here - there's definitely a huge resistance to the cuts, we saw 1,200 students from secondary schools walk out and attend our demo on the 24th, all were concerned with the cuts and had an interest in politics contrary to media belief that kids are apathetic.

What's happening in your ends?

I was never a member of the CPGB, however, I have met loads of guys from my local SP branch. They've been helping us students in Brighton organise marches, printing our leaflets and being incredibly supportive and all without even asking if we were interested in joining their party. I begun reading into their history and etc and was impressed. With CPGB being pretty much dead, I thought the best thing to do would be to get on these guy's side and help them. And I'm very impressed with Hannah Sell, I've read some of her articles and was lucky enough to hear her speech on the march in London last week.

SP from my experience seem to be much more democratic than the SWP - I had attended a few of their meetings and it was pretty much top-down, and more a lecture than a discussion. Whereas at SP, we all had a say, asked for our opinions and then voted on certain things and etc.

I was at Socialism 2010 during one day (sunday). I went to the talk on workers' strikes in China and the one on Palestine. Obviously the Chinese workers' strikes are a very important development, but the risk of a counter-revolution is also present, as it did with the solidarity movement in Poland in the past. Also, many Chinese workers at the moment aren't really politically conscious, they are just fighting for a pay rise.
