Oh, before I forget, is there a specific amount of post do you need? Or the more the better?
I will remember you when I'm in power
welcome to the CC most admins are dickheads, its common knowledge. the powers that be made Q and plagueground admins because most users were calling for full recalls of all the admins. So they put some friendly people on the team to soften their image. most of them are dickheads
I agree with you regarding the atmosphere and content of DSP/SAlt events, this is the major positive I thought that 'Empire's New Clothes' had over them. Saying this though, from my personal experience in participating in the Sydney Class Struggle Discussion Forum, anarchists are hardly any less interested in promoting their own line without alternatives.
Yes, I think population and population density is a factor in these things. This is something elements of the communist left are experiencing first hand in our attempts to begin discussions with the perspective of beginning real, formal and organised political activity in Australia. However, I think there are other factors involved, and political disagreement is not one of them (given that it is a universality). Related to this point, I recently attended the 'Seeing Through Empire's New Clothes" conference in Sydney, which by your criteria was an anarchist conference (ie it was not explicitly anarchist; the list of invitees/presentors including the likes of Jack Mundey, Humphrey McQueen and representatives of Solidarity) only had about 60 people over the entire weekend (maximum maybe 40 at any one point). This and also the SOS numbers show that anarchism is in just as dismal a position as the 'statists' (a useless and meaningless label in my opinion).
I'm not too sure what your getting at regarding the numbers in attendance at DSP/SAlt conferences. The point stands that these conferences attract thousands overseas. Are you suggesting that the high attendance at these is due to less people in disagreement with them? Besides, I disagree with there politics as much (if not more) than you or anyone else. Also, I'm not sure what your getting at with SOS either. In what way aren't these 'the sort of people that turn up to DSP events'? Is that meant to be a good thing or a bad thing?
BTW Youn, don't worry, I haven't forgotten your reply to the visitor messages I left you. At the moment I'm in the middle of my HSC. I will reply to it when I find the time. Cheers.
