If by 'points' you mean reputation, its basically whenever someone gives you a Positive/Negative rep, or if they Thank your post. Each hundred of these points you get another little green bar, its kind an unofficial of a popularity contest.

Here, not really. If anything its sporadic and only happens downtown. The only party I know that has any organization here is the PSL. It would be so incredibly easy to get downtown, or even Miami if Florida had a decent mass transit system, which makes it even more difficult to organize, I fucking hate florida with every fiber of my being.
