Some good books by Trotsky are "The Revolution Betrayed" where he described the Stalinist counter-revolution and predicted the collapse of the USSR.
Also "The Permanent Revolution" is eesential as it is the basis of work in backwards countries.
"LEnin and Trotsky, what they really stood for" By Ted Grant and Alan Woods is a good reply to all the Stalinist slanders.

Marxisim and the national question is the book/speech wich lennin gave
stalin much praise for,
