I don't think the thread is an obvious joke. I think it was a stupid idea for Vangaurd1917 to make the thread and the the discussion has thus far failed to go beyond petty bickering. However, the problem raised is a real one and you making useless posts (if there weren't enough already) does not help.

I'd love to know what you think the purpose of the rep system is other than to 'tell [others] how to post'. If I agree with what you have to say and/or the way you have gone about it I will reward you with positive rep. If I think you are spamming, insulting others or not contributing to the thread I will reward negative rep. It has nothing to do with hiding in rep boxes (as is obvious in me replying to you) and everything to do with promoting healthy discussion in the forum.
