Demands for representation rise as a reaction to the corruption and big business, if mass action could remove the constituitonal assembly and make a more just electoral reform, then the masses will see that they have the ability to change thing's in the bigger scale. But as I said before this in itself is not enough, but then again, chinaworker, info is hardly just an anti-constituent assembly anti-beijing dictatorship group.

Also Leung Kwok-Hung is a radical activist and an ally of ours, bringing the LSD over to a radical working class and socialist politics would not be a repetion of the Labor party. Our ultimate aims are quite clearly stated.

As for the LSD, well in hong kong there is basically two camps the pan-democracy camp and the pro-beijing camp. Both are dominated by the big capital, but the pro-beijing camp have the advantage of beijings backing. LSD so far represents the radical win of the pan-democratic camp, and the demands for full representation that exists. We would foolish if we were to not raise such demands on the basis that they are not enough, no demands short of revolution are enough. So by directing our attention to the radicalized worker's and youth that exist in the LSD, although we do mostly independent work as we are not a part of the LSD as such, we are able to build a socialist consciousness.

Well, that's why our slogans are aimed primarily at worker's rights to organize politically. At the event of the fall of a former dictatorial regime there is usually an enormous potential, but there needs to be an organization capable of using that potential. Otherwise power falls to those best organized, which is those with the power of big capital behind them.

Could you change the headline of my thread? The chinese translation just came up on chinaworker.info so I figure it's more appropriate to change the post to that version instead. 《社会主义者》2010年夏季刊正式发行!

Well, sadly I don't have a clue either. Oh well I'll guess I have to keep up the posting in the chinese language forum then. Haha now I feel like sunfarstar, spamming the chinese forum. Well, maybe not spamming but you get my point.

Well, the correct demand is for worker's rights to political representation, I think the article from chinaworker.info I sent you puts the point more clearly than some of the previous articles. Does that mean worker's are properly represented in bourgeois democracy? Hell no, but bringing about any kind of democratic change in china requires the mobilization of the masses, that in itself gives us a very real opportunity. western media never talked about it but the democracy movement in the former soviet republic were by and large self-identified socialists, but the movement got co-opted by the capitalists, still there were elements of political revolution that then with the help of the capitalist interests spun over to counter-revolution.
