I should also note that every few years, in the Soviet Union, there would be upgrades in certain products. Also, there were price freezes on essentials when the global prices increased, along with many subsidies. The nice thing about the Soviet Bureaucracy was that it employed several state-run companies for the same tasks. So there wasn't much of a deficiency in technology between the West. It however got very bad under Reagan, who used massive government subsidies towards technology, which the SU couldn't compete with. It is ironic how the US defeated the SU, technology wise, with Macroeconomics.

Well, Stalin allowed alcoholism to continue, but it wasn't as bad as other countries. Under Gorbachev it was banned. Raghedpedo is a classical case of a Militaristic Microeconomist, so anytime Macroeconomics is employed he'll disagree with it even if he has to employ dishonest comments. He is just a charlatan, and he has to realize that organized labor is what leads to the massive means of production. It is true that the Soviet Union traded quantity for quality, most of the time, but this can also be true of most Corporations. If a Corporation makes the best quality products, they will last for a very long time causing them to lose the amount of customers they have. So they purposely sell you low quality products so they eventually break, which will force you to rebuy their product again later.
