I think one of the mistakes Bordiga made was comparing the KPD's strategy in 1923 for an armed insurrection alongside the social democracy to the later proposal by Trotsky for a united front against the capitalist reaction in 1930. Brandler thought that the winter of 1923 was Germany's "october," and the Social Democrats were to somehow change their minds from supporting Freikorps a few years ahead of time, after the revolutionary wave of the autumn passed while the KPD was riding the SPD. Basically, the KPD took an opportunist turn in the opposite direction from the line they took during the several month long strike wave on the eve of the Ruhr occupation by France. They thought that post strike wave was the best time to promote revolution, after they ignored it while it was happening, how opportunist! I'm going to continue reading that coorespondance, it's pretty good so far!

Exactly. In addition, the Party transcends the localized, often conflicting, interests of workers from various trades and pursues the general class interests of the proletariat, a task that it is equally indispensable, in my opinion. The main problem with syndicalism and other forms of economism is its failure to accomplish this.

I think it is a good idea for proletarian parties to work together. This would mean that they would have to have specific rules that limit membership to the working class, whether they were revolutionary or not.

What kind of working class parties do you mean? The Troskyists define Social-democracy as a workers ideology.

As do I. I used to hold a more or less indifferent view on the party question, regarding the party as unnecessary but at the same time not necessarily harmful. Reading Bordiga, among other things, led me to the conclusion that the Party is absolutely necessary. The anti-Party "Marxists" are economists, if you ask me.

Which kind of United Front do you mean? It's kind of vague.

I read that work on dialectics. It was interesting.

I agree. There are intelligent individuals and moronic individuals of all tendencies.

    Yeah, I'm in high school.

I agree that anarchists and "libertarians" would probably benefit from reading Bordiga. Unfortunately, it seems like many "libertarians" possess only a very simplistic familiarity with Bordiga's opposition to democracy and not much more knowledge about him.

That's a good quote in your signature, by the way.

Thanks, I joined. I have read only nearly half of Bordiga's works on the marxist internet archive (in English). I must say he was quite the man of letters with such passages as: "The place of the worst barbarism is that modern forest that makes use of us, this forest of chimneys and bayonets, machines and weapons, of strange inanimate beasts that feed on human flesh."

"The exploited are not carriers of any positive project, be it even the classless society (which all too closely resembles the productive set up). Capital is their only community. They can only escape by destroying everything that makes them exploited...Capitalism has not created the conditions of its overcoming in communism-the famous bourgeoisie forging the arms of its own extinction-but of a world of horrors." -At Daggers Drawn

"Our strategy is therefore the following: to establish and maintain a series of centers of desertion, or poles of secession, of rallying points. For runaways. For those who leave. A series of places where we can escape from the influence of a civilization that is headed for the abyss." -Tiqqun, Call
