Well, Raylon put it quite well already, that Keyensianism is a way to try to overcome the internal contradictions of capitalism. But we live in highly highly reactionary times where the most reactionary and "greedy" bourgeoisie are in control. The German ruling class for instance is pushing austerity to lower prices and get foreign capital to invest there, and getting filthy rich while doing it. But for the System this is not good, but for their own individual material interest, short term profit maximizing interest, it is good. Keynesian policies mostly happen when the bourgeoisie is scared to death for their existence and survival as a class, so we're not there yet.
