You know because you brought up the Bavarian Soviet Republic? I dont know if i told you this, but when i was a kid my dad (who grew up in the glory days of Social-Democracy) went with me to the grave of Kurt Eisner, the leader of the Novemberrevolution in Munich 1918. I talked just two days with him about this and mentioned Noske, the SPD leaders who ended up massacring the revolutionary workers in Germany and keeping the bourgeoisie alive. This real life connection does make it easier to talk about these sort of points.
