It's United Methodist, which isn't typically a particularly reactionary denomination, and the pastor is fairly liberal, but the congregation is mostly old people and it's just a stereotypical little, white (architecturally and racially) country church in a lot of ways. I didn't hear this myself, but apparently some of the people there are fond of comparing homosexuality to pedophilia.

Thanks. Nobody's given me shit yet (maybe because I left out the people at my church.) In fact, I haven't even lost any FB friends over it. I feel like people aren't grasping what I mean in its entirety, everything that it entails, because there's no way I expected people to be that supportive. (The likes more than the comments; almost all the comments came from people who either already knew or seemed like they would be more supportive.)
