Oh, I keep forgetting that you are restricted. It is a shame that many of the friendlier members are. Anyway, 'Apocalypse Now' is a great film, based on a great novel ('Heart of Darkness' by Joseph Konrad, and so is 'Full Metal Jacket'. Aren't we forgetting 'The Green Berets'?

Have you become a Marxist and follower of Uncle Hồ's policies and philosophy? Or is it just a picture you like?

It is similar for me. Vietnam films and documentaries didn't draw me into Leftism, but they did strengthen my belief in it and my ideology of Marxist-Leninism.

Nice Ho Chi Minh avvie. He has long been on of my heroes. A truly great man.

I am sorry to hear that. I have often found that most of the anti-English sentiment is from areas like Edinburgh, which has often made me laugh because Edinburgh is in the eastern Lowlands, an area which is culturally English, and was a part of ''England'' for years. Outside of Edinburgh and the main towns itself, I find that the people are actually not very nationalist, admitting that they do not really care or know when the border ends, same in Northumberland (where I live). Scottish people are not usually picked on here because most Scottish people who live or come to Northumberland just sound like those from the far north of the county, like Seahouses. The strange nationalism in leftist parties in Scotland especially puts me off a bit, though I still support their overall cause, even if some are motivated by the wrong reasons.

And the IRA get too much support with Leftists, despite the fact that are extreme national and religious terrorists. I support the cause of the original IRA of the 1910s and 1920s, but these nationalists? No chance.

I get what you mean. I actually do not like the UK so I support independence movements in all of the UK, but the movement in Scotland has a lot of anti-English members in it. I dislike this for too reasons, A) though I am mostly Scots Gaelic, I was born and raised in England, which has a lot of people who support the workers and peasants in Scotland, and B) they blame England for the union and especially the English workers and peasants. The peasants and workers in England are natural allies to peasants and workers in Scotland, Ireland and Wales, blaming them is just an unfair act of scapegoating.

I know what you mean. I quite like my culture, folklore mostly, but when the groups are nationalist I get suspicious. GPGB-ML are not specifically nationalistic at least, being more concerned with the class struggle than things like that. :-)
