Namaste! No, I am not Hindu but I am interested in Vedic cultures and philosophy.
Re: Mugabe Yeah, it's going to be hard for the left-wing supporters of regimes like Mugabe's, Libya, Iran and (hope) China if these uprisings keep spreading. Come on over comrades, there's no shame in making a mistake - the only sin is clinging to that mistake after it's been shown to be wrong in practice.
Hey, what's up?
No I haven't, but I've seen you post about it. I'm sort of an anti-dualist Communist myself
Have you looked into Caesarean Socialism?
Namaste! More an agnostic who is interested in Hinduism, especially on a philosophical level. I spent some time studying in India, and I find the traditions there have deep and under-appreciated philosophical systems and cultures. I don't like metaphysical stuff about rebirth and karma though, or many of the social laws of just about any religion. I also like comparative philosophy. Perhaps you could say I'm a believer in Vedanta?
Namaste! Are you Hindu?
I like the Indian god Shiva (for a number of reasons), though I'm not religious. His weapon in particular is the Trishul, which represents a number of trinities, including the movement of the appearance of truth. I was thinking if I ever do a Master's or other graduate degree, I might look into the similarities between those theologies and Hegel (the idealistic origins of marxist materialism) as a thesis, as a way to help Indian and Western philosophies and theologies interact. Anyway, since my grad school apps have been on my mind, that was what I was thinking of when i joined the forum.
