Two things:

I think it's great you're talking about starting up a group. i'd suggest organising a regular weekly study circle to read some basic Marxist text together and then have a discussion about it afterwards. As well as this, it'd be good to do some kind of regular weekly practical activity, like handing out anti-war leaflets, selling communist papers or just talking to people on the street. This is essential - we have to combine theory with practice if we want to have a solid grasp of either.

However, I'd urge you to be very, very careful with your militia idea. This isn't a game - you can be accused of terrorism for very little these days, and the govt could put you away for a long time. I'd suggest you get in touch with the Utah Revolutionary Students Union, who can be reached at [email protected], before you start doing anything gun related.

They organise regular rifle training sessions, so they'd probably know about the legality of it all.

Life's treating me well man, I've moved to a new city and I'm just about to move into a new flat with some friends of mine. I'm applying for a new job and I'm involved with organising work for a radical, militant trade union while also trying to do explicitly revolutionary work alongside that. Life is good :-)

I think it's great that you've become convinced about MLM. You're right, it is the logical next step, and I've been very impressed lately with a lot of the posts you've been writing. You've progressed in leaps and bounds in the fairly short time I've known you, and you're politics are lightyears better than they used to be - no offense ;-)
