Well, "50%" is not 100%. If Capitalists are given any corner, then the "socialist" nature of your state is in question.

And state ownership of property =/= socialism. If so, most European countries would meet the criteria, and so would Canada during various points in our history.

If 50% of means of production are state owned, and the state is in the hands of a party that includes and is essentialy run by billionaire private industrialists, that is still capitalism in my book.

China is social-democratic at best, but even their social-democratic programs are being thrown under the bus.

Now, with you as a Maoist and me as an ML (Hoxhaist), we can have another discussion about wether or not China ever was socialist, but for the sake of this discussion the fact is that whatever China was during the Mao era, it is no longer that today.

China is a capitalist country, and it is the CCP that is leading the wave of privatizations across the country.
