To be honest I'm not particularly familiar with his works (though I've heard a fair bit 'second-hand'), so I'm not sure if I could give all that good an answer, and wouldn't want to praise or condemn him without a full picture. His engagement with the likes of Bourdieu and Derrida, however, might suggest that we're in the same theoretical chapter, so to speak, even if not on exactly the same page. From what I've heard, though, I feel he certainly asks good questions, which should force leftists to...consider their positions, I suppose, in light of 20th century Jewish history, and reassess their relationship to that legacy. Though I'm not all that sure about his (re)interpretations of Marxism, not least because people don't seem preoccupied with discussing those contributions. At least not in the kinds of circles I've found myself in.

If you're lucky I'll try to get my hands on some of his stuff sometime to get a more reliable image of what he actually has to say...
