I responded in the Orwell thread to Invader Zim. It's a bit ridiculous to see people defending the 1940's Orwell as some sort of revolutionary leftist. By the end he was little different from Hitchens, championing the West against the "Soviet threat" whereas Hitchens championed the West against "Islamofascism."
Pretty good. I like the Chopped & Screwed stuff the most.
I'll check it out, brah.
hey man, I'm not doing much, just hiding from the judgemental French! haha I thought you might have been caught up in the great RAAN purge for some reason.
Who is the guy in your avatar?
that was good, thanks.
Another thing I think is that alot of good punk music is old and there's only so many times you can hear the same music over and over until you want something new. Alot of new punk really doesnt interest me, it's either too Green Day-ish, too Macho Tough Guy or lacks a certain sense of fun, my favorite punkbands werent serious they were just having fun like the Ramones for example. And I think hip-hop atleast is still evolving, it's not just a rehash.
Rarely. I still like it but it's just not where my head is at. I used to be more of a punk but that kinda got boring. I like lots of music genres but nothing beats hip-hop for me.
it bounced back somewhat, we got an influx of students again (wich also makes it less scene/lifestylist) and represion always makes you more intresting but its pretty clear that the focus (of openly/political sqautting) is now shifting again from squatting lots of appartments for needy people to squatting big, prestigous, buildings that can function as social centers, the days of squatting just for an, resonbly long term, roof over your head are defintly over it seems. if you can read a bit of dutch you could check the "witboek kraken" for an recent picture of the squatting movement in the netherlands:http://www.witboekkraken.nl/witboek.pdf dont know wheter you already read it, still about 80's till late 90's squatting is the pamflet "cracking the movement", its still very relevant somehow (albeit a bit pretentious/critical theory): http://www.thing.desk.nl/bilwet/Cracking/contents.html
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98p4k...eature=related Have you heard these lads? This is the punk band that Douglas Pierce and Tony Wakeford were in before Death in June...Surprisingly good.
