Marx said that the working class simply can't act as a class unless it constitutes itself into a political party("Considering, that against this collective power of the propertied classes the working class cannot act, as a class, except by constituting itself into a political party, distinct from, and opposed to, all old parties formed by the propertied classes." Marx in 1870 something). How can the proletariat perform a self-emancipation if it isn't organized into a class? I don't understand

And how can you be anti-vanguard but remain a Marxist? The communist "vanguard" is a concept that originates in Marx's and Engel's Communist Manifesto, maybe your understanding of the concept has been diluted by the bullshit that the stalinists(sorry, "marxist-leninists") spew out. The original "vanguard party" was the pre-war SPD, the Bolsheviks in the Russian Empire only followed their example.

You make interesting posts sometimes. What sort of "Left-Communist" are you? The Dutch-German type like Pannekoek(I've listened to Chomsky state that the likes of Lenin and Trotsky are not Orthodox Marxists, in reality the likes of Pannekoek were the "orthodox" Marxists of the 20th century - even Pannekoek wouldn't agree with such absurdity) or a Bordigist?

Just finished "Revolutionary Rehearsals" by Ian Birchall, Mike Gonzalez, Peter Robinson, Maryam Poya, and Colin Barker. Gonna start on "Party and Class" pretty soon. Before that I was reading "Pedagogy of the Oppressed," "The Meaning of Marxism," "Ecology and Socialism," and various works from my Marx-Engels reader. My mind's fried (in a good way).

Yeah, I agree that clarity is required so that posters are not ambushed by mods with other agendas. But the problem with having a list of censored words is that there is no objective measure of the level of offense a word carries and we are therefore reliant on subjective interpretations which are difficult to sustain and so such lists of banned words are rarely ever clear. But really my main point is that the last place we should expect clarity from is TGU as I doubt that guy could even find his own dick in the dark.

Re. GodlessUtopian, asking for clarity from this bozo is asking too much, I think. I think from his responses he is either clueless about the rules or he is corrupt and banned Aquarius for personal reasons. It's fucking hilarious, though, that RevLeft is now a site for revolutionaries where the use of an infantile word like "tits" can get you banned. Moderators like TGU are turning this site into a laughing stock.

there's summer school next weekend if you want and can get back to me quickly I can probably get you in for Â£80 and try and sort you out a lift from London. It's a residential in Birmingham for two nights. I think people are traveling up on Friday. There's a debate with the Zeitgeist movement in Hammersmith which I'll be going to. That should be fun it's on the 22nd of this month. There's a North London branch meeting on Wednesday they are usually fairly boring for first time visitors as it's dealing with party business, sending motions and proposals on rule changes and stuff like that although I've never attended North London branch so it might not I heard they got their stuff done in 45 minutes whereas it takes us 4-5 hours.
