'Ere mush don't get too defensive - just a bit of hazing. I have nothing against catholicism except their attitudes to bumsex.

I don't mean "evil" in that sense but the whole bad things happen to good people thing and everything happens for a reason.

But I am not saying like Satan evil and I would not say that I am against Pauline Christianity.

I just have to say what makes you think that God is not evil? Have you seen the Old Testament?

I think I'm beginning to understand. I may not agree with you, but I see what you mean.
I'm asking so many questions because I'm fascinated by religion. I find it very interesting what people believe and why. And I'm glad that I can have an intelligent conversation with a theist. I suppose I first asked because I figured that you, as a leftist, wouldn't start calling me a "godless commie" like so many other religious people that I have attempted to talk to.

But, if, as you said, God is all powerful, why didn't He or She stop the Devil? Or better yet, destroy the Devil? I do understand that the Bible does not necessarily need to be taken "literally", but your response seems to indicate that you do beilive in the Devil.

But, knowing humans were imperfect (i.e. able to sin), why did God give us free will? Why not just restrict it a bit, like making people unable to kill each other or something? And why create imperfect humans in the first place? If I were to build an object out of Legos, for example, I would make it as perfect as I possibly could, particularly if I knew it was going to come to life.

4. Why is there evil in the world?

As a communist, you recognize that capitalism is, simply put, "evil". If God is all powerful, all knowing, and all good, why would He or She allow evil to continue? God, as you see Him or Her, would have the abillity, knowledge, and desire to stop all evil in the world. Why doesn't God get to work on this?

Okay Here goes:
1. Is God all knowing?
2. Is God all powerful?
3. Is God all good?
