Yugoslavia abandoned socialism in 1948.
Lots of data that I have says Tito was not a genuine socialist even before that. He was one of the first to betray the socialist movement. After '48, he continued to be western agent under a "red flag".
He encouraged and made possible for all kinds of nationalisms and religious fundamentalisms to florish, and that was the direct cause for future destruction of Yugoslavia.
Plus, he was a self-centered prick.
