I view it as probably the only form of Marxism that's still relevant today in modern politics. Variants like Orthodox Marxism (which lost much of its revolutionary fervor), or Leninism (which was specific to actions that were necessary in the Soviet Union and not necessarily applicable to anywhere else), or Marxism-DeLeonism (which basically died decades ago) are more like historical relics than anything else.

That depends. If you are into 'activism', a heavy positive bias on Trotsky, a relatively centralised organisation, have some leeway on internal freedom of opinion and work with serious comrades, then SAlt is certainly a valid choice.

In my opinion the CWI is one of the better groups to be working with, among the far left, but they have their limitations as well. So, contact your local branch and see if it works out for you.

A communalist believe that socalism can be achieved threw a confederatation of Independant and democratically run communes. Each commune would function independently but together would form the whole. Similar ideas are municipalism and libertarian socalism. I don't think socalism can be achieved by a vanguard party as they are a minority and will end up imposing there will on non-socalist therefor making themselfs the oppressors. Only threw education an example can a truly socalist majority be formed. Sorry for my rant here is a link.

The IMT have a crude conception of "mass party." The "Leninist party" is a distorted Comintern interpretation of the shared definition of vanguard party by Kautsky the Marxist and Lenin pre-Comintern. It is party-movement, and it is mass, too.

Simply put, the class-for-itself is the vanguard of the class-in-itself. How does the class-for-itself emerge? Right from Marx himself in his IWMA years: the political party-movement.
