Well, there's about three times as much thorium as there is uranium, and it can be reprocessed and disposed like it too. They do use it, in India and Germany if I remember correctly, especially since India has plenty of accessible thorium reserves. The thorium fuel cycle is less amenable to producing weapons, since it doesn't produce as much (any?) plutonium. The reason thorium isn't as widely used as uranium is because uranium prices, especially early on, did not warrant much research into thorium fuels.

haha. Well look, I'm not saying Americans are less racist or more racist than Europeans. But the racist ultranationalist parties seem stronger in Europe. For example, in the US they might have a little influence through groups like the Minute Men, etc. but there's not really one single strong fascist movement that's getting elected, like the Front National or the BNP.
