I'm also curious about about the political climate of the regime. I had read that Khorloogiin Choibalsan was a brutal leader who fostered a personality cult, any truth to that? He died not too long before Stalin did, so I assume that his successors were revisionists, and that they sided with the Soviet Union in the Sino-Soviet split.

And of final concern, specifically what sort of economic policies that were pursued along with the degree of success or failure. Culturally, I'm going to assume that not much change aside from an official policy of atheism, though I would be curious to hear if there was anything in addition to that.

With Tannu Tuva, I'm more curious about its pre revolutionary background. From what I understand it used to be part of the Quing Dynasty and somehow the Russian Empire ended up with it.

There is much more I want to know about Mongolia. It seems like things were chaotic during the Civil War, on wikipedia it seems to suggest that there was a three way struggle between the the Whites, Bolsheviks, and Chinese troops but does not delve into specifics. Was the revolution instigated by the Bolsheviks, or did the local communists come to them for help first?

Interesting, I didn't know that about Tannu Tuva.

I've always been curious about the Tuvan People's Republic and the People's Republic of Mongolia, but have never been able to find many sources about them. There seems to have been a short informational book about the latter, but it's long since been out of print.
