I've really read only a few dozen pages of Hoxha available on the internet, though the text you linked me to is pretty interesting. My impression of him seems to be that he was a pretty clever guy whose mind was hijacked by Stalinist garbage.

Anyways, this Grenzer character has put me on his ignore list and is claiming on your profile that I said something about a "vast anarchist conspiracy that killed "hundreds of Bolsheviks" before the October Revolution"...which is a complete falsehood, I'm not a crackpot. He has spread this fabrication against me in other places also. I don't know the origin of it but perhaps he has misunderstood me when I mentioned the assassination campaigns of SRs and Anarchists aimed at Bolsheviks that took place after the Bolshevik Revolution and radicalized the Bolsheviks, contributing to the "Red Terror" and the enlargement of the Cheka...perhaps you could mention this to him as I don't like being falsely accused of stuff like that.

The fight of the National Liberatio an Movement, lead by Enver Hoxha, against German and Italian fascists was indeed heroic and noble fight. Especially since the Albanians liberated their country without any help from the Red Army and hardly any help from the Yugoslavs. A fight against fascist dogs is always a good fight. Tito too lead anti-fascist partisans, and I know you Hoxhaists don't like Tito very much(neither do I, but for different reasons). I consider myself a Communist, so do you...I think that justifying one-man dictatorships on the basis of leading struggles against fascism is beneath us. If the Dictatorship of the Proletariat is just another name for the Dictatorship of the Party elite, then what the hell are we doing calling ourselves Communists?

I don't know about you, but I think people that defend genocidal maniacs and mass-murderers like Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao, Milosevic, Amin, Suharto, Bush and others, are either ignorant, idiots, psychopaths or insane...Hoxha was a pretty bright fellow so I guess he was either ignorant or insane. You pick. But again, not as bad as other Stalinist rulers

Bokassa, by the way, ruled as Emperor for about 3 years(and barely more than a decade as head of state in general). Enver Hoxha ruled as King for over 40.

I know all about the beards thing, but I have never heard of the banana ban and since Hoxha was a insane I assumed it's true. Good to know he at least didn't ban bananas.
