Hi Ismail, seeing as you are the guru on all things Hoxha around here do you have any suggestions for some decent reading on Hoxha on Albania. Now I should clarify im not looking for a massive slog of a book but one that gives a concise summary of the history of the movement from NAZI occupation until later years. An easy read because I dont have the time for a detailed one at the minute.

Well, of course Hoxha also praised Mao sometimes in the period. Although he did criticize his view on Tito and the Cultural Revolution. I actually have some maoist book here (Historical Experience of the DOTP in dutch) and I believe they talk on the first page about comrade Tito. Hoxha would puked on them.

Well, what can we do. Albania Defiant is actually on my reading list, I found a PDF at EspressoStalinist. I don't remember much Mao-quoting in Pickaxe and Rifle though (Been a while since I read it)

Yes, I understand. But I assumed that it was probably a translation of some book (Probably by some maoist, because I don't think there have ever been much of a pro-Hoxha scene (except the maoists). It surprised me that when I go to antiquarian bookshops (online, or actual stores) they still have quite a bit of material about Albania.
