I'm having a hard time figuring out the fascination Trotskyists have in seeing Social-democracy as a third camp.

I was talking about Ben Seattle in my writing on the Third Period. My main qualm with Democratic Socialism is that it's not socialism at all, but ordinary Bernsteinism. There is a need for new terminology, and the seemingly redundant "Democratic" part of "Democratic Socialism" was added for such a reason, but traditionally it has been used by Keynesian liberals.

What does the "social" part of Social-proletocracy denote? The proletocracy part is fairly self-explanatory. I was just having a discussion with someone about how the term communism today has been soiled, much as the term social-democracy had been in Lenin's day.

Communism seems to be thoroughly associated with the coordinator dictatorship of Stalinism, which is why I think we definitely need some new terminology.
