Prost!
Re. D'Arcy's article you submitted, check this out in case my PDF is harder for your eyes: http://www.revleft.com/vb/demands-st...523/index.html
Ha ha. Damn that internet! It's fucking up all my grapevine left-wing inbred gossip knowledge
I posted here so I wouldn't derail things further in that thread.
"More seriously and @JH, do you know what splits happened in the IS that led to the ISO & there being an IS current in Solidarity? Was there an earlier schism about the turn to industry v campus recruiting? I only know American IS folks via Solidarity & that crowd. " I talked about this with someone more knowledgeable about that time period than me, but I can't remember the whole story. From our side, we believed that there was a downturn coming and made a decision to "circle our wagons" on campuses as a place where struggles were still happening and there was a more open political atmosphere. A few years back our two groups tried to develop a closer working relationship, but unfortunately nothing came of it.
hey, thanks for posting that info on Elie Wiesel. I always liked him just because I liked Night but I never realized he was so nuts.
Blake 3:17, I much appreciated your post on Steve D'Arcy, which died (the fate of revolutionary organizing theory at RevLeft) soon after it appeared. I got to it late, but wanted you to know I have sent an e-mail to D'Arcy asking for further communication. Mr. Natural sends you his red-green very best.
Well, there's a long road ahead.
