Most people I meet don't understand political history/economics very well, so it rarely comes up. Most debates I get into involve much more general issues, like LBGT rights or unions.

What do you mean "day-to-day"? Are you asking me if I'm active in a party which upholds Hoxha? No, I am not. I don't believe there are any like that in the United States.

To me, Stalin represents the continuation of Marx and Lenin's line, as well as the successful construction of socialism in Russia. Ergo, I uphold him against his opponents, whom I generally find to be contradictory in their outlook.

    1. I am nineteen.

    2. The person in my previous avatar was Thaddeus Stevens, a Republican congressman during the Civil War who held extremely progressive views for his time and took a hardline stance against slavery.

    3. Hoxha seems like the only figure who followed the logical continuation of Lenin and Stalin, as opposed to folks like Brezhnev and Mao whom I perceive as modifying the theory to suit their social-imperialist interests.

Nay, he seems like a Brezhnevite. He'd just make excuses.

If he holds it is anti-revisionist then I doubt I could sway him. The modern-day Communist Party of China "upholds" Stalin too, I doubt anyone takes such upholding seriously.

The KPRF has a schizophrenic ideology that simultaneously upholds the 20th Party Congress and Stalin, simultaneously collaborates with and opposes Putin, and is otherwise consistent only in its chauvinism and opportunism. These are all basic things.

Depends on what you're thinking. The game is very macro, so its not like you'll be setting up soviets or anything. Ideology does have a big impact on gameplay though, and you can encourage revolutions in opposing civilizations. Or they can happen in yours.

"We must flee from Time, we must create a life that is feminine and human - it is these imperative objectives that must guide us in this world heavy with catastrophes."
Jacques Camatte, Echos from the Past

"For example, to say that the relation between industrial capital and the class of the wage workers is expressed in precisely the same way in Belgium and Thailand, and that the praxis of their respective struggles should be established without taking into account in either of the two cases the factors of race or nationality, does not mean you are an extremist, but it means in effect that you have understood nothing of Marxism."
Amadeo Bordiga, Factors of Race and Nation in the Marxist Analysis
