Bobkindles, you are such a jerk! Please stop talking about anti-Germans, you obviously have no idea what this current is about at all. My opinion that the holocaust has shown the need for a Jewish state (not necessarily in the middle east BTW IMO) is just common sense for me. It's an opinion shared by many German leftists, and really not all are anti-Germans. The fact that once again all you have to response to a valid argument about my reasonings to support Israel's right to exist is "oh you evil anti-German Zionist" just shows your lack of arguments. It's just fucking pathetic.

I'm well aware of all problems that arise from the idea of a Jewish state in the middle east. And believe me, I'm addressing it when discussing with anti-Germans (I guess I'm in fact discussing with myself than ). That doesn't stop me however from seeing Israel as a logical consequence of the holocaust.

You may not think you're a Zionist, but the fact of the matter is that you are one, because you evidently think that there should exist a state in the Middle East, encompassing part of historic Palestine, and geared towards the interests of Jewish people at the expense of non-Jewish ethic groups. That's the definition of what a Zionist is. The only way this state can be made viable is through the continuous oppression of Palestinians, mainly in the form of denying the right of return, so as to ensure that the Jewish population retains its demographic advantage, and so, for all your talk of opposing the current government's policies, the logical implication of your Zionist beliefs is that you condone what the government is doing. The fact that you justify your reactionary ideas with references to the Holocaust is evidence that you really are an anti-German however much you may refuse to admit it.

I'm well aware of the contradiction between my Luxemburgist leanings and my stance to acknowledge the right of Israel to exist, Vinnie. Naturally I agree with Luxemburg's denial of a "self-determination of nations".

I don't consider myself a Zionist, and my position on Israel is based more on realpolitik than on communist theory. I do think that in our current, fucked up, world order there is no alternative to a Jewish state as a save haven for the Jewish culture. Doubtless the holocaust has shown that it is needed.

That doesn't mean however I support any of the current Israeli governmental crimes.

I just wanted to say that you should remove Rosa Luxemburg's name from your signature and that I find it disgrace and a complete betrayal to her memory that you consider yourself a Luxemburgist or in anyway influenced by her thinking - if you know absolutely anything about Rosa Luxemburg, and I mean if the most basic understanding, you'll know her position on the so-called right of 'nations to self determination' - that is, a total rejection of it. That includes Israel, a country founded on the most disgusting racism and oppression. But I doubt you have the political integrity to do so, because Zionists don't have political integrity - they are nothing more than foul parasites.
