I was purged for a variety of charges, all of them bullshit. They ranged from " Un-helpful/Un-comradely behaviour" (i.e. questioning the direction that their organization was taking,) , to accusations that I was a "plant" from the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist). Seriously. This is the level of ego we're dealing with here.


It didn't take much to get purged in that party. If memory serves, Ismail was purged for his bookish inactivity in the real world ( the Irony is suffocating me).

I've written/contributed to a few articles on the Red Phoenix. The review that I wrote of the Jean-Luc Goddard film " La Chinoise" is still up in the "Reviews" section.

I Got purged. Same thing that happened to Ismail. Same thing that happens to anyone who rolls with that organization too long.

Long story. Officially I was a foreign friend of the party. My contributions to its development were great though ( not to brag). I increased their membership five-fold, and their present style of reporting on contemporary events is largely because of my criticisms.
