I don't look at what Trotsky said after Lenin died because it was just resentment against the fact that he lost the leadership to Stalin which led him to the idealistic camp. What really matters of Trotsky is what he said/did before Lenin died while he had political power within USSR. He advocated the permanent revolution, the submission of Trade Unions to the state interests, the single party rule and the ban of factions within the party and the planned economy. All of this became Stalin's USSR. Don't you agree?

And I agree with you that on a personal level they were both very different. But I was talking more on a theoretical level. From the party authority to the planned economy they both shared the same ideological vision to the USSR. Trostkyism is more a product of Trotsky resentment against Stalin than an ideology.

So tell me how really different they were?

I've received all of them, thanks. I've only read the ones about inequality in America and the other about foreign policy and they were really good. I especially liked how you focused on 'Grand Area Theory.' I think we should focus on that for the article. Overall, some really good starting points there.
