Well, I personally haven't read anything on the matter, but it's just quite clear, in my opinion, that prisons in our current format are completely inefficient. We should be focusing on rehabilitation and not punishment; it is my hope that in the future we will look back in disgust at the barbaric times when we caged our fellow men and women like beasts.
