It seems you don't have a clear understanding of the concept of the National-Liberation. Your question (To me,in the thread.) can be answered by this line from Lenin:

Insofar as the bourgeoisie of the oppressed nation fights the oppressor, we are always, and in every case, and more strongly than anyone else, in favor, for we are the staunchest and the most consistent enemies of oppression. But insofar as the bourgeoisie of the oppressed nation stands for its own bourgeois nationalism, we stand against. We fight against the privileges and violence of the oppressor nation, and do not in any way condone strivings for privilege on the part of the oppressed nation. [Ibid., Vol. 22, p. 149].

Unless you think the Chechen nationalists were adequate leftist revolutionaries,i think yo agree with me on this.

Another thing is,the CCCP was not 'the oppressor nation' - so this shouldn't even be debated.

I'm in the vague London area, which hopefully means finding transport won't be too much of a problem. Probably some cheapo coach to take me most of the way, if I end up going, but it would depend who else I know who's going, because I don't really want to be stuck out there with a load of potential dickheads :P But looking on the site...it says there's a free (what?!) campsite in town, and that they're trying to keep most of the events free, too, just some with a 'discretionary' cost. I guess that couldn't be too much, and even if it were, it could be avoided by just not hitting up that particular event. It could probably all be done on the proper cheap, even if that requires mindless networking with the gathered masses outside of the officially organised events...I dunno...

National liberation can sometimes be a good thing, but only under very special circumstances.. 99.9% of the times it's happened in history, I'd be against it. It's just blindly supporting the bourgeoisie.

Oh, it's Voline who wrote the stuff I'm talking about, not Makhno. He was a friend of Makhno's. You can find his stuff on the anarchist library.

It's said that there were people fighting under the Anarchist black flag against the Soviets as guerrillas as late as World War 2 even, which is pretty impressive. Makhno is still remembered in Ukraine today, but like most revolutionaries, it's been hijacked by nationalism.

No, I've read his work on Makhno and the Ukrainian anarchists, which was interesting; but I hear it had distortions and was romanticized. Still, I'd recommend it.

I see... is there some kind of Roosterist baptism I have to partake in to become an official Roosterism Roosterist?
