his idea is basically that the supposed liberalization and cultural movements of the 60's and 70's ruined culture and our romantic lives by basically bringing us one step closer to total individuation and life laid bare to the blind forces of the market.

I'm thinking of buying a collection of the prison notebooks. I won't be able to read them for a while but am looking forward to it.

Hey, noticed we like the same posts. You should explain and suggest some Gramsci, because so far i don;t get him.

Hi there! Congrats on getting CU! How is it going? I had a great day and get to sleep in tomorrow so that makes it even better! I also just wanted to say how awesome that you are. Keep it up! Your posts and efforts are appreciated! Don't ever let yourself think otherwise because I am feeling encouraged in my own political views by yours.

I have received a few jabs from Bordiga-lovers. Once they read my posts I suppose they realize that a Stalinist is about the last thing that I am.

You should see what happened when I first joined this forum. I came simply as "Gramsci" and I ended up getting called a Stalinist and some other junk, so I shifted to something else.

There's a lot of the Bordiga angle though I think the aspect of their rivalry was overblown by later generations. Though for what ever reason it's treated like the BIG THING that changed everything forever. Plus the Eurocommunist appropriation of Gramsci didn't help much either.

Thanks, Red Commissar. Amadeo Bordiga seems to be considered more "hip" around here than does Gramsci. Perhaps Gramsci is considered tainted because he replaced Bordiga. Gramsci was considered "hip" back in the 70s and hopefully young Marxists will rediscover the importance of his theoretical contributions.
