Okay, so Engels means Democratic Republic in the literal sense? I.e a republic that is truly Democratic and not the Bourgeois Democracy of Weimar Germany, or the short lived Menshevik Democratic Republic of Georgia?

I have a very high opinion of her. Personally, I think she was a much better theorist than Lenin. She was right on quite a few things where Lenin was proven to be wrong, such as the national question. Easily on my list of top five communists.

He also said Malcolm X was a Marxist?? Malcolm X was a reactionary islamist at some point as far as I'm aware. His later beliefs were reactionary racialist nationalism.. 100% incompatible with Marxism imo.

Anarchists are Marxists? That's a good one. Of course an anarchist could nominally be a marxist, but they don't have to be. I decided that he wasn't worth it once he started arguing for the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and China's racist policies in Tibet.
