I'm a fisherman. If you want to get involved in the industry, I'd recommend coming up to Kodiak, around the beginning of May or so. Ask around town, walk the docks and put your name out there, there's a high chance you'll get work. That's salmon fishing, probably on a seine boat. Pot cod season is starting up soon, so you might be able to get in on that...I'll post more if I think of some more helpful advice.
